Tonight’s show includes many special guests in addition to our talented cast, read more about these talented performers below!

Moses Braxton, Vocals
Known for his strikingly rich bass tones and dynamic stage presence, Moses has performed with the Washington Symphony, the Charleston Symphony, and in touring productions of Porgy and Bess throughout the United States, Japan, and Europe. He appeared with Larry Gatlin and BeBe Winans in the touring production of The Civil War, in Calvin Gilmore’s Charleston Christmas Show, and in One Voice at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He is a Richmond, Virginia, native and studied at Virginia Union University and Indiana University.

David Herron, Trumpet, Flugelhorn
A native of Gastonia, North Carolina, David studied music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After college, he played principal trumpet for several stage productions including Evita and Annie. He played lead trumpet for shows featuring Fabian, Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, Shirley Jones, Sandy Duncan and Ricky Van Shelton. David has performed with the Lawrence Welk Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and in The Carolina Opry Christmas Special for several seasons. He resides in Myrtle Beach.

Chris Connolly, Trombone
Since graduating from the Eastman School of Music in 1988, Chris has performed with such greats as Lou Rawls, Ray Charles, Kenny Rogers, and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and written arrangements for Bernie Williams, Steve Gatlin, Bill Pinkney of the Original Drifters and many others. Chris also appeared in the motion picture “The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” and has recorded a jazz CD entitled Since Last We Met. Chris returned to the Grand Strand after earning his Master’s Degree in jazz composition at William Paterson University in New Jersey and is currently teaching at Coastal Carolina University.

Philip Berg, Saxophone
A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Philip has made Myrtle Beach his home for the past 18 years. He began playing his sax at age 10 and never looked back. His playing career includes orchestral to jazz and everything in between. One of his greatest joys was an accapella recording of “Amazing Grace” in honor of his parents on the alto saxophone that they first purchased for him so many years ago.

Mia Curtis

Mia Curtis, Dancer
Mia Curtis, daughter of Megan and Mike Curtis, has been dancing since the age of 3. Mia has been training at NXT LVL Dance Experience, owned by Megan and Mike, and has won National Awards all over the United States as a part of the NXT LVL Project. Just this year, she finished TOP 3 for DANCER OF THE YEAR at the Hollywood Dance Jamz Nationals, and was awarded a rare and coveted spot in their National Company. Mia’s love for dance has been apparent since birth and she dreams of being a famous dancer one day. Looking at her acclaimed parents, you might say it’s in her blood! She has had the honor of watching both of her parents perform on The Carolina Opry stage for most of her life, and now has the opportunity to perform with her daddy in the beloved Carolina Opry Christmas Special. Mia is very excited to share the stage with this amazing cast and begin her journey as a professional dancer.

Lindsey OConnor


Lindsey O’Connor Dancer
Lindsey was born in Nashville, TN and moved to the Myrtle Beach area when she was 3 years old. She started dancing at the age of 8 and has never stopped. She is making her professional debut and starting her dancing career right after graduating this past year from North Myrtle Beach High School. It’s no surprise she is choosing entertainment as her path in life as both of her parents were entertainers as well. As a matter of fact, she is taking the Opry stage 10 years after her mom did, performing in the same show. She has competed in and won both regional and national competitions. She has studied ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop throughout the United States studying under top choreographers. Lindsey has been a student teacher at her hometown studio for the past 3 years and was just recently recruited to help begin a new dance team at Myrtle Beach High school as choreographer. She is beyond excited to be a part of the Carolina Opry cast, and to be performing in this season’s Christmas Show.

Torre Randel


Torre Randel Dancer
Originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Torre began dancing when she was 12. Torre’s natural talent lead her to pursue a career in dance, attending the American Musical Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles and New York, where she earned an associates degree in Dance Theater. Some of her recent credits include “Newsies”at the Legacy Theater, the west coast ballroom dance tour of “Shall We Dance,” Helga in “Cabaret,” Gertrude in “Whistlin’ Willies Wake,” ” Do Portugal International Circus,” Miss Honey in “Matilda,” and “Carnivale.” Torre is thrilled to be a part of the cast of the Carolina Opry and would like to thank Gilmore Entertainment for the opportunity to be part of a fantastic show!

Maya The Horse, Sleigh Drawing

Maya is a 21 year old Pinto, owned by Jennifer LeFever, and is entering her ninth season with The Carolina Opry. When Maya is not performing on stage she is a therapy horse for the Fidelis Foundation. The Fidelis Foundation partners with youth, serving agencies and community members to provide Equine Assisted Learning. Maya teaches participants confidence, trust and communication skills.
