June 2009
News Release
Calvin Gilmore of Gilmore Entertainment will be bringing something completely new to the Myrtle Beach entertainment scene this summer.
LIGHT, America’s biggest multi-million dollar permanent laser light show, will premier at the Gilmore Auditorium (home of The Carolina Opry and Good Vibrations) on June 18, 2009 at 4:00 pm. The lasers that tour with Pink Floyd and Madonna will be right here in Myrtle Beach.
In a recent demonstration, the lasers shocked and delighted the small test audience with their dazzling impact. You have to see a show like this to believe it. The blaze of color and movement from the lasers, when coupled with music in a themed production, creates a moving and unforgettable experience. As the New York Times said of a one-time performance in New York, “…you can really walk out exhilarated.”
The laser production can feature a number of themes, including Classic Rock, Christian, Patriotic, Family Fun, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, U2, Pink Floyd and Holiday. Priced at a reasonable $19.95 for adults and $15.95 for children, if you love one theme, you can always take advantage of our package pricing pop back in to see another.
LIGHT is expected to be a big hit with vacationers of all ages. With so many themes to choose from, the convenient 45-minute running time, and affordable ticket price, it can easily entertain patrons from different decades and different walks of life. LIGHT is also proudly sponsored by Chick-fil-a and their famous sandwiches will be served at most performances.
The lasers are by Lightwave International, of Pittsburgh, who provide lasers for Madonna and Pink Floyd shows, among others.
Gilmore Entertainment has long been the leader of musical variety show entertainment in the Southeast, with classic Carolina Opry show and their new hit, Good Vibrations. Gilmore and his Carolina Opry have been featured by USA Today, ABC Nightly News, Southern Living Magazine, Variety, and a host of other newspapers and television shows. It is the only Myrtle Beach show to receive the coveted South Carolina Governor’s Cup, as well as being voted South Carolina’s Most Outstanding Attraction. In recent years, Gilmore has performed regularly on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, and he is designated as South Carolina’s Official Country Music Ambassador.
